It seems like it would have been a great opportunity for Africa to sneak in and take its Kangz and Queenz back home.

Mexico was involved in its own internal battles for years and broke.They were willing to give US perpetual right of transit using Isthmus of Tehuantepec for cash to pay back Europe. US Senate didn’t ratify treaty. France then took advantage of our civil war causing inability to enforce Monroe Doctrine and tried to install its own puppet govt. After civil war we sold weapons to Mexican republicans to fight off nobles & France.
