Any suggestions for a beginner?

Slaughterhouse is a good, inexpensive cigar.

Nice, tie between those and a Siglo IV's as my all time favorites, a few dozen of each are always in my humidor.

Nice one! Thinking of lighting up one of my Cohiba (Cuban) maduros I bought when down in the Caribbean. It's my first Cuban, but friends that are bigger aficionados that I am say that Cubans are overrated.

I would suggest going to your nearest cigar shop (not tobacco store), and simply talk to the worker there. They, for the most part, are aficionados and go to conferences all of the time to smoke different products. They can set you up with a solid sampler of cigars, so you can discover what smoke profiles best for your pallet. Don't do what I did, and order samplers from Cigars International (which are mostly shite cigars), which took even more time to uncover what I like.

Go to reputable cigar shop and let them set you up.
