Were you in my class? A brother kicked me back in 99-00. He was subsequently fired

In my experience if the brothers were kicking arse it was for a good reason...

No I saw kids falling asleep getting their desks flipped, textbooks thrown when talking in class, and kids getting thrown back in their desks after disrupting class.

You didn't frick with them.

I can assure you this time it wasn't. I didn't move my desk quickly enough for his liking so he grabbed me from the desk, threw me to the ground, and kicked me square in my low back.

He was a new brother they brought in, not one of the old guard they had there.

Regardless, if I have a son I will send him to Chrostian Brothers without a doubt.

Q.: Who misspells the (potential) Savior of the World's name?

A.: Someone who's going to Hell, that's who.

I saw Brother Austin pick up a desk with the kid in it and threw it across the room, circa 1992.

Does anyone else remember the other Christian Brothers school that was located on Moss St. near Holy Rosary in the 1980s? I think that's where the discipline issues were sent.

Might be dating me a bit, but Brothers Raphael and Justin didn't put up with anything.

Favorite teachers were Rowan, Meeks, and Brother Alfred.

All great teachers and characters in their own right. Definitely not a snowflake factory- if you didn't get with the program you got bounced pretty quickly or you were in for a very rough ride.
