I see these "TD created PIIHB" type of threads and laugh. TD rarely creates new content, especially viral content. And breaking news most often comes from Twitter or occasionally Reddit. 
And it's often inaccurate, to the point of being embarrassing sometimes.

well... much like the NOPD officer shot news from this morning...
someone posts a thread that goes "hey 20 cops just went down my street... what's going on?"
someone else posts a link to a police scanner
everyone else chimes in
20 minutes later the news stations confirm through official channels what we've all been listening to already and it's breaking news

I got an alert on my phone at 6:22am reporting gunshots on Prytania. 3 minutes after the thread was started.
