I get it. I'm just saying that it shouldn't surprise anyone that a business is taking advantage of free money from the government.
Kind of like the student loan/grant racket.

It's shocking that prices are out of control when government funding is intertwined.
This is no different in practice than government-backed student loans and the price of college.

Just wait until universal basic income is a thing.

Hopefully, but it shouldn't even be a topic worth discussing. We know what it does to prices. Everything adjusts accordingly.

It is one business that is 100% recession proof and NEVER going away. It also probably has less and less competition because you never hear people WANTING to be a mortician. Or at least that never seemed like a choice at career day.

I'm actually pro modified universal basic income, but only if we did away with ALL "entitlements" first.

The funny thing is that I live in the heart of a city more dangerous than Chicago. New Orleans on paper is way more “dangerous” than Chicago per capita. The thing is, in New Orleans (and probably Chicago,) you don’t get shot unless you deserve it. Unless you are a random victim of robbery violence, most these targets had it coming to them. I’m just speaking out of experience. I’ve lived in New Orleans for three decades, no one has tried to kill me yet. I’d sleep so nicely if I lived I JP. Out there your only worries are the big lee types.
Basically when it comes to government money, everyone abuses that system. After Katrina, every cocksucker and his mother had a “home elevation” business. Why? Cuz the money wuz free.

This is, of course , true, very few "innocent victims" when I was a criminal investigator and investigating murder, the first thing you obviously wanted to know was "did the victim piss anyone off recently" and most of the time they had.
