Why does nobody talk about GMC trucks? I like the Sierra. The best looking tuck I've ever seen as a black GMC Sierra diesel. Nobody ever talks about these trucks in the usual ford chevy and lol at dodge conversations
GMC trucks have always been better looking than Chevy but they are the exact same truck. I rarely refer to Chevy, GMC, Buick, Pontiac, Oldsmobile, etc separately as they are all made by the same company(GM) and many platforms are shared with minimal to no differences between them other than a few cosmetics and badging. Same with Ford, Mercury, Lincoln and a few Mazdas. Ive owned two different GMC trucks because I loved the looks and both fell apart faster than a wet paper bag.

Aren't cummins engines supposed to be extremely legit?
Yes. They are. They are a separate company(or at least they used to be, I dont keep up with this stuff anymore) that GM contracts with to produce diesels because they tried diesels once and the experience was so bad they never made another one. LOL. Thats how shitty even they know they are at doing shite. Diesels require a level of perfectionism and attention to detail to get right, thats why the Germans are known for making diesels(they also invented them) and the best ones at that(Mercedes, VW) and why GM sucks at them.

How come nobody talks about the dodge diesel trucks with these engines?
1. The only thing worse than a GM product is a Chrysler product.
2. Douchebags drive Dodge trucks. RAMitupyourass.

Less weight?
The aluminum body only put the Ford on par with Chevy for weight.

GMC had different body panels and interior material. Also until very recently the Denali was the only truck that offered Magnetic Ride Control.

it made it 700lbs lighter
CURB WEIGHT (F/R DIST) chevy 5,607 lb (58/42%) ford 4,935 lb (59/41%) dodge 5,990 lb (57/43%)

This is what is available on each of the company's websites for 4x4 crew cab half ton models:
Ford 4964 lb
Chevrolet 5299 lb
Toyota 5677 lb
I couldn't find Ram or Nissan specifics, but the Ford is nowhere near 700 lbs lighter than the Silverado. I did not get this from Ford's website either.
They might be 700 lbs lighter than the previous generation F150. Ford made the 2004-2014 body styles exceptionally heavy after concern over the IIHS offset crash test results of the comparatively lighter (and smaller) 1997-2003 models and the demand for increased interior space and larger cabs.
This actually lends credibility to the point that consumers demand performance and efficiency. They are not demanding aluminum in particular. Ford and Chevrolet just happen to use a lot of aluminum parts (entire body panels in Ford's case) to deliver less weight and better efficiency. Ram came out with a half ton diesel a while back, which was unique at the time. Toyota's Tundra is probably due for an update pretty soon.
I don't see a substantial benefit to buying any particular model over the other. I'd probably gravitate towards Chevrolet and Toyota because I've had much better luck with those brands than I have with Ford and Chrysler.

Those numbers are on 2015 models when the aluminum body first came out. It seems GM is trying to catch up but forward is way ahead. I've owned Ford I've owned Chevy and I've owned Toyota and I would put Toyota first for reliability Ford II and Chevy tied with Dodge they suck. Plus I am a mechanic and shop owner and I know what I see and I don't see Toyota and I don't see new Fords I see new Chevys and new dodges
