The ones they say in their own ads are for initial quality. It means jack shift after a year or two when it starts to break down.
Meanwhile, my 10 year old tundra has only had new brakes, a new battery, and new tires, and I've got 120k on it.

"Find New Roads."
I already know where that is.

I think the dependability award is for 3+ years.
Either way, I did have a Chevy pickup that was very sturdy and I kept it for 7-8 years. Would buy another if I needed one.

thsi thread just made me think and it's not worth starting a new one.
In advertisements can you basically say anything you want to as long as you put a disclaimer at the bottom? LIke if a company wanted to say "we've won the award for best product the last 7 years, our product has never been defective, we have the best rates, we are superioer to every other product on the market, yadda yadda" but then had a thing at the bottom saying "we made this up, none of this is verified, this is entertainment purposes only"...would that be allowed?

I love how the test subjects' minds are blown when they keep lifting the platforms and another vehicle comes up out of the floor. They react like the Clinton's did when the balloons were dropped at the DNC. Like "Whooooaaaa... this ride is too too intense maaaannn..."

The little wording at the bottom of the screen says they are based upon 2013 models, but the aware is a 2016 award. JD Powers getting paid to dole out awards
The dependability award they are touting only goes out to products after 3 years of ownership.

But the vehicles in the ad are not tied to the vehicle that received the award. Deceptive marketing.
