Rape Vans are in abundance. Drive to work, get laid, dump the body, go home. That's a good day and you saved money.

Not going to lie... I've thought about this.

Define “cheap”. That’s variable for everyone.

They're cheap, and getting cheaper

Are you in or near Colorado? You can lease a Nissan Leaf there for $5/mo. They have crazy tax credits for electric.

Don't know when the model was discontinued but the Mitsubishi Eclipse exceeded expectations mileagewise particularly on the highway. Had it as a rental a few years ago.
I bought a 22 Mitsubishi Mirage in 2023 with 3500 miles on it for $13K. It now has almost 60K on it and seems pretty sound. I have put a set of tires on it since I bought it and it is probably going to need brakes in a year or so but other than oil changes it is very cheap to own. If I baby it I can get 46 MPG out of it. I average around 43 MPG. It will seat 4 adults comfortable for about 2-3 hours and the trunk will hold 4 carry on sized rolling bags. It ain't a speed merchant and about as basic as transportation gets but I am impressed enough that we are looking for another one for our 15 year old daughter.
