If I purchase a cemetery plot can I plant a small tree on it? Can i simply bury my wifes ashes there and mine be added later in the same plot?

Don't think a tree, but planting yourself's only.

Maybe if you buy 4-6 of them you could put a trailer home there too!

Probably depends on the cemetary in regards to the tree. Most have regulations about what you can even place on TOP of the grave (fake or real flowers, their vases or your own containers), so I doubt they'd let you plant a tree.

You might be able to put both of your cremated remains together in one plot, but I usually YOU can't simply bury the ashes there, the cemetary or funeral home would have to do that (for a fee, of course--death is a huge racket). I think there's all sorts of weird rules about how to properly handle cremains.

Sucks going through this, so I hope your question is just in general. If not, sorry for your loss.

When I bought mine and the wife's about three years ago, I asked a similar question. Say I go first, buried in a casket. Wife is cremated, wants her ashes placed in my casket. According to La. law - can't happen. If the ashes are spread on top of my plot with me in it - okay.

Not in a plot. If you have a crypt or mausoleum space, yes.

Depends on the cemetery. I have heard of people planting trees, but many will not allow it.
