You might want to go ahead and get used to using Bluetooth over your car stereo or earpiece. As soon as La realizes the money grab they are missing they will implement hands free driving laws.

In San Antonio and Austin they started with school zones and then quicky made it citywide. If a cop sees you holding a phone talking in your car you are getting a ticket.

Most of the ones I've seen do it to show off that they have a phone, AND enough prepaid minutes left on it to have a conversation to show off that they have a phone.

Once you program your device, your car should automatically pick it up whenever you're in or near it.
