has not happened in 2019. But listening to ALL of the local media and "news" outlets, you'd think we were going to have a Mt St Helens type smoke and ash event this summer. In fact the number of acreage burned YTD so far is at a 14 year low... oops.. guess their Apocalypse will have to wait another year.

This is the first 'typical WA summer' we've had in years. It's been great so far.

You're in a 24/7 news world. Everything gets maximized. There was all you could read about a black girl licking some ice cream in a Walmart. So, even a "14 year low" of fires, you're still burning 1000s of acres. It is a story to someone. But, if you'd feel better if it was just your street to get torched...

Bro, fire season starts in late August. We had record breaking rain here in SoCal last season and all of the new greenery we got is now dead and drying out.

This season is going to suck. There will be massive fires.

The Camp Fire aka Paradise Fire didn’t occur until November.

He probably should have specified the PNW.

What northshore said. It’s supposed to be in the 70’s all week with a little bit of rain.

The temps have been much cooler but it’s been ridiculously dry thus far this year. Olympia, where I’m at, is -13” under normal precip amounts for the year.

That's weird. Seems like we've had a shitload of rain for this time of year in Tacoma. Oly is normally wetter than here.

We've had severe drought, which is unheard of. Smoke from fires in the Yukon was awful last week

Yah in Fairbanks it was real bad.

Where I'm at we had bad smoke from the innoko/McGrath area. Was down right awful. Had 90+ degree temperatures with smoke.

We were in a drought a couple months ago. Maybe we still are, but it seems like it's been raining every other day and the temp has been mild. IDK.

Yep it was mid 80s here. Thankfully the smoke got so thick it actually cooled it down a but.
