Anyone have this done? If you have, which lens did you go with and what has been your experience? Are you happy with your choice? I have some big decisions to make and I've received advise from family members however the more informed I am the better.

Family members can use the computer with just monofocal lenses and this is what I'm leaning towards. This may not be the norm though. They had distance lenses put in their eyes. I'd like to go with multifocal, but had sticker shock as insurance doesn't cover anything but the actual surgery. It's quite expensive. It's a very difficult decision that will last a lifetime.

I have the monofocal lenses. Have to use readers, but out about five feet to infinity my vision is 20/13. These have been in ten years with no issues. Readers can be a pain but love it when I am sightseeing in the mountains. Clarity is amazing.

I have heard you can put in one contact lenses in your non-dominant eye and be able to read without readers. But I've never tried it.

Stay away from Crystalens. Problems with mulitfocal can be star effect. The most important thing is to pick the correct Dr.
Monofocal lenses are your safest bet.

I work for an ophthalmologist and he doesn't use multifocal iols because they aren't guaranteed to work as intended.

Do you want to pay the money for a chance at not wearing glasses??

I would rather pay for a monofocal lens and use some multifocal contacts once they healed up.
