I have used the broker market 3 times, used a different shipper each time. Cost was 1/2 of what dealer was going to charge. I typically talked to 2 or 3 guys before confirming. One time I used dealer care came in a day late.

I have used Mintway twice shop cars from Ohio and California to SC. They were on time, and the cars were undamaged when they arrived.

I recall when Craiglist always had a banner warning of scams in the car hauling industry. They loved to rip off old New Yawkers who were moving between there and the summer home in Florida. There's apparently a lot of fraud in the business.

I bought a Jeep in Iowa. Paid one of the national brokers to bring it to Baton Rouge. Received a call the next day from a hispanic fella who said he was in downtown Chicago and was leaving my new Jeep on the side of the road with the key on the seat unless he got more money. I called the police in the town I bought the Jeep from and gave them his cell number. They were able to get him to bring it back to the dealer and drop it off to avoid charges. Turns out he was just down the road from the dealer...not in Chicago. The original company I had contracted with subcontracted it out to an independent driver who tried to shake me down. I flew up there the next day and drove the 1,000 miles home.

I used Uship in the past with no issues.

Used Uship as well but I've heard its hit and miss. Cost me $1200 to ship my boat down from Minnesota. They have a review system as well where you can check their past shipments and get an idea of the legit ones. My guy had a licensed business. The seller didn't include transom straps so the guy towing it even stopped at the store to pick me up some for the haul.
