Can you imagine elementary students singing this song now?

We used to sing this on the bus in third grade on field trips:

(to the tune of Battle Hymn of the Republic):

Mine eyes have seen the glory of the burning of the school
we have tortured all the teachers we have broken every rule
we hung the secretary and we'll drown the principal
our truth is marching on!

I've heard the third line replaced with:

We have plans to hang the principal tomorrow after school

We sang this chorus:

Glory, glory hallelujah
teacher hit me with a ruler
I bopped her on the bean
with a rotten tangerine
and she ain't gonna teach no more"

They would expel the kids now, arrest them if they were 10 or older.

A lot of the innocent things we did as kids are now criminal.

If Alice Cooper released School's Out today, he would probably be arrested.

Agreed, and I was a kid as recent as the 90's.

Fortunately for some, butchering the English language is not an offense punishable by incarceration.

I toned down my reply a few times before I hit "submit". I suggest that the evidence has been properly preserved.

I have a cousin in high school facing seriousness criminal charges for rolling someone's house.

No permanent damage done. Friend's ex girlfriends house. They apologized and cleaned it up.

Vandalism, trespassing, and criminal mischief. Ridiculous.

I contend that you doctored the "evidence" you presented.

I was witness to your ignorance. Plain and simple, you've been burned.

Accept the disgrace you've brought upon yourself, baw.

It's one thing to make a grammatical mistake, it's quite another to lie to cover it up. The former goes to an innocent/ignorant act while the latter goes to a conscious act which reflects one's character. The fact that you edited speaks volumes as to your "contention".

There was a trashy house in our small town that had two old sofas out front near the street, and stray dogs would sleep on them every night. The yard was dirt - no grass. My son and his friend, when 13, snagged the town's "Yard of the Month" sign and put it in that yard.

They almost had criminal charges filed against them. Most people thought it was funny as hell.
