One of the big hangups in Laura claims were that people couldn’t get shingles that matched their old shingles when their roof needed to be replaced. Insurers only wanted to pay for damaged parts and homeowner’s wanted to get roofs that didn’t look like shite. The policies were somewhat ambiguous as to whether getting matching shingles to the undamaged portions were covered under the policy. This looks like SF trying to make it very clear that you’re only getting matching shingles if you buy the matching coverage endorsement that you posted.

I recently shopped home insurance and found out that some insurers are only repairing damage spots on your roof and if it dont match that is your problem. I last put a roof on in 2005ish and paid about $16k. A full roof replacement for me now would be north of $30K.
