No way I'd let my son drive anything less than an Acura.

My son is buying his first vehicle ahead of turning 16.
94 Toyota truck 4x4, manual drive, 87000 miles. Been in a garage mostly putting about 400 miles on it the last 8-10 years. 1425.00. Saw it sitting in a friends garage and asked if he was selling it. He couldn’t be more excited. Truck is in great condition and maintained.
Nice. He takes care of that and sells it on ebay after he graduates college and he'll have a down payment on his first house.

I'll sell you my dad's 2004 Buick Century with 57K miles on it for $2,500.
You can spend the other $1,500 taking it to a mechanic to diagnose/fix whatever is wrong with it since it has not been driven in a year.
