My dad had a 7 series that was bulletproof. The BMW dealer in Texas had it built for a Mexican official but he never picked it up. My dad’s company gave him a check an he went and picked it up. Car was a tank. Unsure if the engine was tuned or upgraded in some sort but it would haul arse. A cop stopped him walking into a restaurant to tell him the tires he had were rated for a MPH greater than his cruiser could get to.
Pretty ridiculous car for a local executive to drive around but it was a fun story.

A chick in a building I’ve worked in earlier this year had one of these as her daily driver.

I didn’t like being in them. I started to rent a junky arse whatever in country and just drive myself. I told my customers- “I’ll just follow y’all about 10 vehicles back and when they hit you with an RPG, I’m just gonna turn around and go back to the airport”
Sounds like the smart thing to do when your customers were driving around in a moving bullseye. I didn't think that those vehicles would stand out as much as they do.
I used to travel a lot in latin america back in the day and I remember seeing "bulletproofing your vehicle for you" shops in Monterey NL and Tegucigalpa, Honduras. For some reason this popped into my head last night and I knew someone in the OT would give me the deets into these things.

I would assume their engines are all larger than a normal car of equivalent size , to push all the additional weight.
