What an asinine list for all practical purposes. I understand this is the OT, but who buys a vehicle with the one-year resale value in mind?

Is it? The most accurate/valuable way to measure resale value - for a new car buyer - is against the same body style being sold new. If it were a 5 year study I'd say "well no shite, the 2011 Whatever was total garbage, but the 2016 model is great!"

Buick is a prestige brand in China. They think of them like Mercedes over there. That's the only reason GM kept them around and didn't ax the division like they did Oldsmobile.

Perhaps that list stays exactly the same after 5 years, but selling a vehicle bought new after 1 year is not practical. I don't see the inherent value in the one year resale value of a vehicle, especially on its own.

The best way to use that list, IMO, is to gauge what cars you should target in the used car market. The Regal seems like a great option - top manufacturer in reliability and huge discounts after one year.

The redesigned Lacrosse looks like a little like a Mercedes

Just as surprising to me here is the position of Audi and Acura. I'd have bet that their ratings would be switched. Surprised Acura is so low.
