Such BS. Half the hospitals across the country are empty
Seriously? You are going to bring this BS in this thread?
OWL, I know we go round and round, but I am actually being serious. Sorry to hear about your buddy's loss. It's never easy for anyone to lose a parent, even if you know they were suffering and that they might now be in a better place.
My dad past away in 1999. He was 57, I was 19. I still think about him every day. Its tough.

Damn, couldn't be in the hospital to say goodbye, and the funeral is limited to 10, stressing big time about that and the loss itself
We lost our son not long ago.
Your buddy might say he is doing fine or whatever but mostly it is tough to talk about it so itis easier to just say you are fine.
It does help though people reaching out to you and checking on you. Stuff to get your mind off of the loss helps. Maybe offer to take him fishing or go do something. Don't push talking about it...if he wants to talk he will.
What helped me was friends coming by and just talking about random things.

In my hometown the funeral home is offering streamed funerals if you want so you can at least take part from home since everything is limited to 10. It sucks but at least it's something. Maybe here they are offering the same?

Losing your dad is tough, prayers for your friend.

IMHO, the correct protocol in a plague environment is cremation followed by a very modest internment. We just buried my BIL who was a great part of my life for 30 years and it was difficult for his family to call people and tell them not to come. I have another friend who just lost his wife suddenly ( she was pretty young too ) and they had no service. It’s sad for everybody.
