We didn’t even have the cushioned seats, we had green hard shell fiberglass seats.

Ours were wagons pulled by woolly mammoths, but at least it was better than walking to school across a glaciated land bridge up hill both ways like our parents apparently did.

In the 80s we had those green vinyl seats that were like melted rubber. All of us rushed to put the windows down trying not to burn our fingers on the metal latches.

I recently worked on a newer bus and couldn't believe how ridiculous the safety stuff was. To start it you had to press a button in the back of the bus and then use the key within 90 seconds.

If the engine failed there is a heater capable of burning diesel to keep the kids warm.

Bus? BUS??!! I walked to school, 5 miles, uphill both ways, in the snow even in summer school! And that's after I got through swimming the alligator infested creek!!

Mammoths and glaciated land bridges?

LUXURY!

We had to avoid hungry T Rexes, Mosasaurases and Pterodactyls through volcanic eruptions, and don’t get me to talking about the Chicxulub event!

Not a good couple of decades to be around there, I tell you.
