What kind of training should one have to be an estate manager/executor?

Would there be a market for a small firm set up to execute wills/manage estates or is this pretty much already split up between bankers and lawyers?

just wondering?

Just write yourself into your clients will.

It's not like your clients will care once they're in the coffin.

Executors are generally family members with no particular expertise or training, in my experience. It's just not that difficult to do except in rare instances of very large or very complex estates, or when there's no immediate family member who's mentally or physically competent.

90% of estates are too small and easy to administer. The rest are large and have professionals assigned to them already.

I can't imagine much of a market exists for anything in between.

Doesn't appear that anyone in the COA do so why should experience matter?

I'm a CPA and an auditor....the BRCOA looks like shooting ducks in a barrel audit wise...

was wondering if there was a niche market out there for handling smaller estates...

If I was a lawyer I would open a practice specializing in fixing screwups by Legalzoom and other do it yourself/online legal services. I would make bank.

How often does someone know there is a screw up before it is too late?

Dealing with a situation now where someone sent off a trust dociment to an online lawyer and neglected to get one of the parties to sign it, so the lawyer faked the signature. It was discovered a few years later and has turned a simple property transfer into a complete shitshow.

I do a lot of estate planning work and would not let any of my family members use an estate planning document from one of those sites. Lot of lawyers don't charge that much for a will/health care documents. It's worth the extra $500-$800 to get them done properly.
