Should it be ok to take 10 all the way to downtown or will some parades have streets closed. What's the best way to get to the CBD today?

TIA

I actually have no idea for a Saturday. That was always my goto Friday before mardi gras route. I'd just keep a smart phone handy w/ google maps traffic on and play it by ear once you hit the lake

Traffic may not be too bad getting into kenner and Metairie but once you cross the 17th Street Canal traffic will be pretty tight. All the way to Downtown.

I-10 is going to get stacked, but if you aren't familiar with the city, stay on it.

Push through the 610 split and stay left towards slidell. Exit Elysian Fields and head towards the river. This will get you all the way to the French Quarter / Marigny and is typically one of the quickest and easiest ways in during Mardi Gras.

Then take Decatur into the heart of the beast to see a bunch of fun sites while moving slow.

WHich hotel are you going to?

only certain streets. You can still navigate to the hotels and such.

You just need to show your O-T street pass.

I'm trying to decide if it'll be worth heading to NO from BR tomorrow night leaving BR at 10 pm. Will I even be able to get into the city that late or is it gonna take more than three hours to get to my hotel in the French quarter?

Bacchus is usually still parading at the end of their route after 10 so it will be tough getting into the quarter unless you go down Elysian Fields. But plan on walking.

You'd be better off trying to get in after the mid day parades but before Bacchus.
