As I see what all is going on in the country, it makes me think back to the Alton Sterling shooting. BR PD did a good job of not letting it get out of control. Not sure they got the credit they deserve.

I know this may sound silly but Kip was mayor at the time and had the police department’s back. I think things would have been a lot different if SWB was in office

Different Mayor and a different Chief were here then.
Orders come from the top.
The District Attorney and Parish Attorney created a dangerous precedent following those arrest. New Mayor and new Chief. We are ripe for another massive show of civil disobedience in my opinion.
I am proud of the local community thus far. I would like to believe that Officers Jackson, Gerald, and Deputy Garafola didn’t give their lives for nothing. I would like to believe our local community knows too well how easily things can go too far if they join or support outside groups coming into this city.
I am cautiously hoping that they won’t let us down.
