It's usually because they're on blood thinner. Blood thinner makes you feel cold so they bump up the temp.

It’s just something that happens when you get older. My dad used to keep his set at 68 year round. When he and my mom got older it started creeping up. When she was suffering with cancer she was always cold. She’s gone now, he still keeps it warm.

I agree. That’s why I keep mine on 67 during the day and 62 when I go to sleep. My ac vents are closed in my bedroom because I hate feeling the heat when it comes on.

Must be an older you get thing. My father in law, who had dementia, used to keep his thermostat as high as it would go......in summer! The heat would knock you down when you opened the door to his assisted living room.
