Same thing happened here. Some old white guy who would drop the "N word" (I hate that coded talk but I don't want to get banned) all the time. But, one of his good friends was black. I asked his friend what was up, and he said "man, my house burned down and he brought food, clothes, found us a place to stay and gave me some money. When I tried to pay him back, he said no."

I administer some groups (yea, I know) that discuss race and the one thing that drives me nuts are young whites (usually fat women, to be honest) who lecture everyone about tolerance and diversity. I always try to find their FB pages so I can see all their lily white friends and call them out.
