Went to the East coast of FL this weekend. Our friends took us to this warehouse on Saturday, which opened at 10AM, everything is $5, including PlayStations, iPads, sex toys ( ), we didn't go in, because the line was ridiculous. Today, my SO went with our friend's husband, and everything was pretty picked over from the day before. Apparently, this is an Amazon liquidation warehouse, but I think it is stolen goods. People go and buy like 20 of something, then re-sell, online. Everything is jumbled in bins. Any of you have this in your town? My SO said it was bizarre. But kind of fun.

Ive seen a lot of knock-off play stations, lap tops, and i-pads, in South America. They look almost identical but they are trash. Could have been something like that.

Yes. This is common.

You can buy truckloads/pallets of goods from retailers.

For example, Home Depot has returns, etc that they liquidate. But they only do that in 4 cities.

Current bids for a truckload of lighting and electrical worth 45k is at 5k.

Amazon has the same type of deal. A mixed lot worth 290k has a current bid of 15k. Closes in 2 days. That is 14k units in mixed condition.

So, even if it sold at 30k that is still about 2 bucks an item.

Lots of cell phone cases, books, children's toys, in addition to the electronic and weird shite. I just thought it was a strange thing. Almost like a Goodwill, but all new stuff.

The illegal aliens that lived in the apartments near where I lived in Dallas had a "store" in an apartment. They bought snacks, cigarettes, and beer there tax free. When you are sharing a one bedroom with seven other people and living off the grid, you don't care where it came from, as long as it's cheap.

I guarantee you they knew where to get other things on the cheap too. A guy knocked on my door, and offered to hook up cable for a one time fee of $50 one day.
