Nah Texas is run by the bandidos, there is no other large 1% club presence here at all.

Yep, the Banditos were founded in Texas I do believe. And they've got that state pretty well locked down, despite the recent developments in Waco.

Dude, I told you they have a presence here. But that does not mean they "run" the COC here like they do in places like Texas, Louisiana, and Mississippi. I've attended COC meetings for years and know the president (who happens to be a member Of In Country MC btw) and I'm telling you if anyone dominates the COC here, it's the Outlaws and DD's.

Yep and every national president except one has been from Texas, the one exception was a guy from Bellingham, Washington where there is another large Bandido presence

I may be confusing them with someone else, but didn't the Feds come down hard the Washington Banditos a few years back?

ETA: I found it...

quote:

In November 2006, Glenn Merritt of the Bellingham, Washington chapter was sentenced to four years in prison for drug possession and trafficking in stolen property. A total of 32 members were indicted in the associated investigation, on charges including conspiracy, witness tampering, and various drug and gun violations. Eighteen of those pled guilty.[18] In October, 2006, George Wegers, then Bandidos' international president, pled guilty and received a two-year sentence for conspiracy to engage in racketeering

Just like in Mississippi they collect a lot of the money and they stay behind the scenes. They set up COC's to as a easy way to collect monies. They pressure clubs to join the COC and if they don't then they are harassed by the Bandido support clubs until they join. The only clubs they leave alone are the Law Enforcement clubs.

I don't pretend to know much about biker culture, but that's absolutely true. At least from what I've seen. They've ran East TN for as far as long as I can remember. Our swimming hole is by their clubhouse and I Remember seeing 100 bikes outside on the way to the lake growing up. I have some family that's close with some of the older guys. Gnarly dudes

I'm aware that Georgia is "Outlaw country" but I honestly never see or hear much about them. I may have seen one or two members riding around over the years. I do recall their clubhouse getting raided a few years ago.

My guess is that if you lived in the mountains here you'd see more signs. As it is, the only 1%er I've seen in GA in the past few years was a Bandido at a Counting Crows concert.

I don't know enough about where they're located to say. They are well represented in Knoxville though

I question the rest of this story just because the journalist obviously didn't do much fact finding. Waco PD are not the Taliban they had M4's not AK 47's.

Waco “Twin Peaks” Shooting – The Crossfire and The Four Dead Bodies We Don’t See…

A bit long but well worth the two or three minutes it takes to read. He gives an account from an innocent bystander swept up in this as well as gives a pretty compelling case about where the firing came from....

quote:

Several days ago, May 20th, we received an email from a distraught family member of one of the incarcerated. The email contained an outline of a brief discussion the writer had with her husband, who was a witness to part of the events, and arrested in the aftermath.

Because we could not verify nor vet properly the information, we tabbed it and tucked it away for reference.

We still cannot substantiate the full content. However, we have been able to locate visual information which does align with the general gist of the story as shared. Visual information that was not known to the sender, and unknown to us as we continued to review hundreds of stories, links, pictures and scour the little information that is still surfacing on the local Texas media sites.

Additionally, nothing has surfaced which refutes or disputes the story as it was shared.

In very short form the version shared was of a biker who did not belong to an organized motorcycle club but who saw a flyer for a “legislative affairs discussion event which outlines current regulatory policy as it relates to motorcycle riders” at a local bike shop.

So he decides to attend and see what it was about, whether it would be anything of interest, and what topics of legislative discussion would relate specifically to motorcycle riders.

He arrived at the venue moments before the shooting took place, and not knowing anyone decided to walk in the front door. Walking past the registration table set up under a portable canopy, when he first heard gunshots.

Not knowing what to do he froze in place, heard more shots, and the sound of bullets he perceived as generally whistling by his vicinity. He ran back toward his bike, deciding it was safer to lay in the grass. He had no idea what was going on behind him when he reached the grass, and so he crouched down and headed for cover near a Dark Blue SUV.

When he reached the SUV, he heard gunshots from the area he was now in. He saw what he later described as a SWAT officer, or police officer of some form, in a firing position, on the other side of the SUV; and so he thought he had put himself in a dangerous proximity to fire.

He made the decision to jump into the grass several yards away, and behind the SUV. There he laid on his stomach with his head down. After several moments of silence he heard the command to ‘stay down’, and not knowing if the command was directed to him, to everyone, or to anyone specifically, he just decided to remain laying there.

Approximately 30 minutes later a police officer came and took him back toward the Twin Peaks parking lot into a police vehicle. He was cuffed without further explanation and after approximately an hour in the back of the vehicle was driven to the convention center.

There he remained quietly, not wanting to talk to anyone; for several more hours until he, along with a host of others, were transferred to jail. He was permitted one monitored phone call to his wife on the 3rd day (Tuesday May 19th) where he told her what happened and asked for help.

This person thought (wrongly) he was only going to be questioned by LEO as a possible witness to the events, and then released. It was described, as written, as “living a nightmare”.

Update

quote:

The McLennan County Re-Education Camp
Neither the United States Department of Justice, the American Civil Liberties Union of Texas, the Governor of Texas, the President of the United States nor any of the score of smurfs and fools currently running for President has so far dared to come to the defense of the scores of men and at least two women who remain unjustly imprisoned under cruel and unusual circumstances in the McLennan County Jail.

The Southern Nevada Confederation of Clubs has stated that the jail is desperately overcrowded, that some prisoners are not being fed and that others cannot get needed medical attention. A week ago a Bandido named Jeff Battey had to post a $1 million bond before he could go to a Dallas hospital to have bullet fragments removed from his arm.

Yesterday on its Facebook page, the Southern Nevada COC said it had received the following messages from “family members” of men who were rounded up in the indiscriminate mass arrests that followed the shooting deaths of nine men and the hospitalization of 17 more following a barrage of gunfire outside the Twin Peaks restaurant in Waco on May 17.

Please Help
“Third world conditions – please help!”

“My husband still has a bullet in his chest and can’t use his right hand. He has a heart condition, has a stint and a-fib, and they are trying to change his medication. He is afraid he might bleed out in his cell.” “Heart meds not being disbursed. Has bullet in chest and cannot feel hand. Believes he has nerve damage but they will not treat him”

“My brother is type 1 diabetic and is not receiving insulin. His blood sugar is 550.” “Meds not being distributed – takes insulin”

“Blood pressure meds not being given”

“No blankets or pillows. Sleeping on cold floors”

“Husband just had back surgery and was on prescription meds for pain. Simply decided to go to the meeting to get out of the house. He was told he was being given a sleep med and instead they gave him ADHD /bi-polar medication. He has also not eaten anything for almost 10 days now since surgery”

Kenneth Carlisle
There are numerous accounts of men being illegally arrested and detained. For example, a plumber named Kenneth Carlisle was arrested because he was wearing a Harley-Davidson shirt. According to the San Antonio Express-News, Carlisle spends “most of his time raising money for multiple causes for ill children, cancer victims and survivors, wounded warriors, and cooks in barbecue competitions in which the proceeds are donated.”

Carlisle’s wife Lindsay told KABB-TV “He wasn’t wearing any vests, no colors, no bike, was in a vehicle and was in the wrong place, wrong time.” She said he had driven her car to the Confederation of Clubs Meeting and was arrested “eight minutes” after he arrived.

“This is has been beyond difficult. The worst nightmare of my entire life,” Lindsay Carlisle said. “What happened to innocent until proven guilty? In this case that’s not what’s happening.”

No Answers
So far, authorities in Waco have been oblique about how 26 men came to be shot; what part police played in the massacre, or why people who self-evidently had nothing to do with the shooting were arrested and charged with murder.

McLennan County District Attorney Abel Reyna has intimated that the bikers are being punished for not telling police what police want to hear. In an interview with television station KXXV, Reyna said “I’ve heard enough about my person was a victim and most of the people were victims. Well, guess what? If they’re victims they shouldn’t have any problem coming to law enforcement and cooperating to be sure justice is done and the individuals solely responsible are brought to justice. And, through the first round of interviews we aren’t getting that.”

The hard news in this case portrays the city of Waco and McLennan County as rogue governments that have gone mad.

The Waco Tribune-Herald reports “McLennan County is spending $7,958 a day to house those jailed in the May 17 Twin Peaks shootout. So far, the county has spent more than $80,000 to arrest and incarcerate people who went to a brunch in Waco and then tried to avoid getting shot.

Only two men, Battey and Christopher Stainton have made bail so far. Neither man has a criminal record. Both are required to wear an electronic monitoring device and observe a curfew while they await their day in court.

As of this morning, 175 of the 177 people arrested in the vicinity of the May 17 shooting remain locked up. Thirty-four men have filed for a reduction in their bonds. About a score of those have bond reduction hearings set for either June 5, 12 or 19. Most of the prisoners haven’t filed for bond hearings because they do not yet have lawyers.

Seventy-five of the alleged murders have requested a public defender. There are only 29 lawyers in McLennan County qualified for the job. The County has 26 prosecutors.

fricking Waco. There is some serious bullshite going on there right now, but seeing as it's "biker trash" there will be no outcry. I'm waiting for the day that the clubs in the rest of the U.S. start coming to town demanding justice.

Quite honestly where is the American Bar Association, the Texas Bar Association, etc. because what is taking place with a majority of these people is downright unconscionable with respect to the legal system and citizens rights. The D.As & Waco PD are making a mockery out of the US legal system with what they are doing with these people.

I'm all for putting those who started this in jail but by now they have enough video evidence to allow 95% of these people to go home.
