Not entirely true… they got rid of the legacy XTO holdovers that resisted the change. Still a good bit of younger XTO folks that bought in

They have a floating LNG ship called Prelude that Shell has admitted to spending $24 Billion to build and it doesn't work as designed.

Typically means you are under balanced to the well. The type of wells in the Permian are long production laterals, so if you’re letting a little in, you’re letting a lot in. Even the water flows can bring back H2S. If it gets away from you, you can cause a blowout.

Managed pressure drilling is a different story, but still requires fairly intense supervision and competency.
