Why can't you just take E Boyd to Nicholson to Nicholson Ext and then turn into the Commuter Lot?
quote:Is not even possible. If you take a right on Burbank you are going away from campus. You would have to either turn around in a driveway/cul de sac on Jennifer Jean and then take another right onto Burbank or you would have to take a U-turn further down burbank.
Or turn right on Burbank and left on Gourrier and enter the lot by the Child Care Center?
If turning right onto Burbank, Gourrier is located to your left, past Parker.
The shortest routes possible are detailed on the second fancy map, and they all do involve getting on Gourrier (via Milford) to the back of the CEBA lot by the Childcare Center.

but anyone who took a left onto Burbank from Boyd deserved the death penalty.
Not near as bad as people trading left's onto Brightside/Lee

I was talking about a right on Burbank from Nicholson.
As an IE you should know that shorter distance doesn't always mean more efficient
UPS driver's routes are programmed to take as many right turns as possible to save time.

Honestly, going up Nicholson isn't that bad for you. You're already past the lights

Longer route doesn't mean longer time.
You take a right out of university view and take a right on Nicholson. Take Nicholson to extension or the first light and make a right. If you go right at the first light, you never have to wait at a red light. Might actually be quicker.
Coming left out of university view and going left on Burbank is a shorter route but you can sit at lights and not move while the other person never stops on Nicholson

I learned very quickly in my now 10 years in BR that E. Boyd @ Burbank is not an intersection to go through or turn left anytime from 10am-8pm during school. So I've pretty much taken the changes into my own hands already.

Where do you get off of the interstate? I normally just take Burbank all the way up if I'm headed that direction
Posted on 7/8/14 at 11:28 pm to When in Rome
Just make the block and do what you've been doing after taking a left onto Boyd from Burbank.
They really need to one way Boyd in each direction away from Burbank and a lot of confusion can be avoided.

Well I'm just talking about getting to the spot on your map.
Best way to interstate 10 east is the route you said imo. West just take Nicholson towards downtown. Also depends how far you're going east on i-10

Pretty far down (have to get onto I-12). I'll probably just turn left onto Nicholson, left onto Jennifer Jean, and then left onto Burbank and then right back onto E. Boyd TBH. It's stupid since I'm used to going straight, but it probably won't take much time during the summer while school is out and traffic is light.
All bets will be off when school is back in session and people are driving like idiots!

Right onto Nicholson, right onto Burbank and left onto Parker or Boyd will be quicker to get to Highland and LSU Ave.

ETA: oh shoot, there's a light on Nicholson at JJ too, isn't there? :(

1 left is a lot less than 3 lefts.
Posted on 7/8/14 at 11:34 pm to Golfer
I forgot there's another light at JJ and Nicholson. That sucks.

Yes, without a protected green like you have at Parker.

True true. I'll test your route tomorrow and report back. It still seems silly though (all of this).

what time? I could use a lift

Left on Nicholson left on Jennifer jean could suck in traffic. Two lefts where you are at the traffics mercy.
Best way to do that maneuver is take left in rotolos and go out the entrance but don't go into Nicholson. Take 'illegal' left into Raj's lot and get on Jennifer jean. Fwiw I've lived in that little area for almost 15 years and know the short cuts
