That was Don and his character. Gets himself into situations with no hope of closure, resolution, or a future. All he can do is walk away.

we all say that, but those people came from a different world. Pete had a family lineage that mattered to those upper crust people. If you remember, Pete's family, on his mother's side, had owned a lot of land north of Central Park in generations prior.

Maybe it was a different time, when women knew their place...but I always thought one of these women would be some phyco stalker that put Don’s life in a whirlwind. But nope, ol’ Draper wiped his hands clean and walked away every time with zero push back.
