Drove from NOLA to Seattle. Chocolate covered coffee beans and satellite radio (Howard Stern) helped me the most.

Stay away from audio books. They make you go to sleep. Listen to something that pisses you off. Something political usually works. Easy to stay awake when you are pissed. Also, call someone and pick a fight on the phone this always works for me.

Take up dipping. Buy 3 different types, like mint, wintergreen, and longcut.
FYI I can keep a dip of grizzly mint in for 2 hours and it keeps me up the whole time.

A good [Churchill] cigar will help you kiil an hour-hour and a half. When I'd make the 16 hours drove from State north flipping through the radio usually resulted in making the trip feel a bit shorter. Howard on Sirius is another great way to pass the long, boring trip. I tried the books on CD and they almost put me to sleep.

My daughter had to make a trip out to Tuscon, AZ a few years back. Tried getting plane tickets but at the last minute they wanted over $1,000. I decided to drive with her rather than spend that kind of money. So, I just bought her a return ticket.
On the way home I bought a couple of audiobooks. It did make my drive easier and a break from music.

Start Blueprint to Armageddon 1 and by the time you reach your destination you may be on part 3. The rest of it should hold you over for the return trip!

Download Netflix and binge watch a series. Or find a good podcast or audio book with a solid story line. That’ll do the trick

On long drives I plan them at night, less traffic and the time passes faster. Redbulls when you get tired.
