I am getting married and need to go get fitted for a tux. I figure I would just rent but I don't want a shabby tux. Does Perlis in BR rent tuxes? Any other recommendations?

Try Amazon.com
Buying everything would actually be cheaper than renting one. Plus you'll never know when you need the use of one again.

I would just buy one. Most likely you'll wear it again. Joseph A. Bank has nice tuxes.

Don't do it.

Buy your own. If you wear it 3 times it will have paid for itself. Plus, it'll fit and look better.

How much does a decent tux cost to buy? I enjoy dressing up but I'm not on OT baller budget since I'm fresh from school.

I was just being a dick and throwing out the typical OT bullshite. Don't pay any attention to shite I post.
Just get something classic and no fricking bow ties.

Take a ride out to NOLA/Metairie. I was looking at a few options and debating whether to rent or buy. The ranges to rent for the style I wanted were in the $150-220 range. Stumbled across Tuxedos to Geaux and was able to buy my tux, shoes, extra vest & tie for just over $210.
They also say they provide lifetime alterations (as long as there is enough material available).

Perlis doesn't rent.
Squires is generally my go to.
Macy's has rentals at decent rates if you're getting something basic.
Al's formal wear has the most options and is kinda in between price wise.
However, just buy one. Bates and Thigpen downtown has a nice tux for sale for about $160, and K&G has cheap ones for around $100.

Go with Black Tux.
A few years ago I went with the "buy your own and it will pay for itself" advice. You'll end up buying a shitty tux that doesn't fit you correctly to save money and you'll look like a 12-yr old wearing your dad's suit. With Black Tux, you get a modern-fit designer tuxedo and you have the options on different styles each time.
My wife did the same route with Rent the Runway. She rented a ~$1000 designer dress for under $100.
