Pretty cold. That doesn't bother me much but my GF at the time wouldn't stop complaining. So I shared some of my whiskey.

I just moved to live in the Hill Country north of San Antonio.

I'm just a few miles away from the Guadalupe.

I'll give updates on the River as I see them.

I went to the Guadalupe River State Park a few weeks ago.
It was a cool place to stay and camp out.
If you wan't more places to visit, eat and drink Gruene is a great starting point.

The weekend our game was cancelled against Florida around October 8th. We stopped at a place to chill out and drink and let kids play. It was up the river from Gruene. There was a lot less people just seemed like locals hanging out. Camping along the river during football and hunting season seemed a good time with less people and perfect weather.

Have you heard of any LSU alunni/ fan groups for FB games out here?

Also for restaurants they have quite a few good ones in Gruene.

Gristmill is good, Dos Rios in NB is new and good, and Gruene River Grill is "meh" but the outdoor area is nice. It is walking distance from Gruene Hall which makes it worthwhile.

Also in Canyon Lake Genarros is your only viable option for good food.

I still have scars on my ankle and leg from that river 20 years ago.
