It’s certainly improving as that area densifies and becomes a more walkable urban neighborhood. Hit up South End on Saturday night. Had a couple beers at Suffolk Punch and dinner at Barcelona.
Incredible amount of hot 20 something women wandering around. My GF noticed I was enjoying the scenery. Lol

North Carolina - mountains, beaches, great education (public and private), a strong economy, friendly people, good food and beer.

MS, Alabama, La have a lot of issues, though all are great states to live in, in certain areas.
Arkansas is a decent state. NWA is probably the best area to live in the south
