Yeah I paid 100 a month in savannah for the same school affiliate.
The other schools in my area are 75/100 all the head guys there are bjj brown belts

which part of Tejas? I know a bunch of people out that way as well.
if around Houston, I think that's where Sage Northcutt wonderboy trains, and Millenium martial arts with Angel Huerta

The instruction there was very solid.

technically, youre a "coach" in bjj at blue belt, and I know a few people who opened affiliate schools at that rank and I know plenty of purple belt school owners, but theyre mostly gracie barre and gracie united.
theres plenty of brown and black belts now, though. there used to be only a few around here but most of them are under Tim, Marco, and Rafael.
Tims blackbelts and brown belts are the BJJ Revolution, then they have the NOLA BJJ crew who are also really good and the Gracie United schools are under Rafael.

Wasn't there a guy named Leonard in Nola that was a bjj bb.
Yeah I know roman pizzolato opened his own mma place in plaquemine. He's either blue or purple I want to say

He teaches both.
Good teacher and does well with kids.
My instructor in savannah was a 3 stripe purple belt back in 2011. I thought his skill level was higher than that though. I think he subbed me five or six times in about 2 minutes. It was insane.
My battalion commander at the time before he made full bird colonel was also a purple belt, old guy could move

im not sure about leonard, I know marco macera is, gabe barahona, desalvo, josh artigue, Matthias, and a few others.
honestly, with that many blackbelts around, I wouldn't train with anyone other than a brown or black belt unless its more than a half hour away.

my buddy just made brown belt, used my lapel over my back, then choked me out with it. after I tapped he somehow got me in a bow and arrow... most pain I've felt...
gotta remember theres no "standard" promotion in most bjj schools... its more quality and like hey, you've been winning a lot, heres another stripe
your experiences may vary

Yeah I was also in the army so I just trained when I could.
Now I want to start again and have consistency but once I start it school ill have to just do it 1/2 times a week preferably weekends.
The closest place to me now is called precision jiujitsu in lindale tx ran by Jeff Hammond.
Hopefully ill start again this Monday. I need to do something active

just hit up my Tejas contacts to see whats around.
I know a few sport karate schools and I just did a google search and saw some Tiger Rock schools.
STAY AWAY FROM THERE. FAR, FAR AWAY.
but as a former krotty instructor, i'd say find places that can work with your schedule and don't sign a long term contract unless hes flexible and you're confident.
also, stay away from those places where you have to buy their branded gear or buy everything from the instructor.

You'll only have done it right once you've posted some pictures of that cutie in your avatar.

Yeah I saw that website lol no thanks.
I wouldn't mind learning karate; I always hated the advertising that said karate but it was taekwondo.
I know there is also a tang soo do and hapkido school near me but I'm a little weary of that too.

hapkido is crappy Korean aikido judo bullshite. we always made fun of them at tournaments, because after they would lose, they would always post all over facebook how they don't train for competitions but train for the str33tz, and how if allowed to do what they practice in class then someone would get maimed
tang soo do is crappy Korean karate.

Apparently Precision Athletics by Celtic studios had jiu jitsu but I don't know how they're holding up with the owner facing a couple rape charges

I thought so.
Korea is crap. No wonder why the US had to go there. Murrica
