Best driving route from Monroe to killeen tx?

Obvious interstate route is 20 to 35 and go that way. Are there other more direct routes?

I'd take I-20 West to Tyler, TX tkae hwy take Hwy 31 south thru Corsicana to Waco then I-35 south to i190 west.

yes good highway...4 lane mostly... will go thru small towns so you will have to slow down some.
