Want to take my kids camping soon. I want it to be in the woods, but the type where you can drive up to the campsite. I want to be able to make a fire, perhaps some places still restrict this.

Drunken hunters there through January.

(not like there's anything wrong with that)

I think they’ll only have a week of primitive weapon or so. Not sure. But the rest of the time Tunica is bow only.

I know a lot of wooded areas, but you can't drive up to anywhere.. You have to go in and make your own campsite.

Bogue Chitto State Park. Nice hilly walking trails, clean restrooms and you can build fires.

I was about to ask if it was a little cold for camping but then I remembered December and January are probably the only months that aren't sweltering down there

yep...the winter is really the only time that camping is comfortable in MS and LA. you get to actually have a campfire and the mosquitoes are not quite as bad.

Bogue chitto State park is awesome and relatively new, but it’s about an hour and fifteen from BR
