Try this one. Same guy who did Bush 41's memoirs. Also did a good one on Jefferson.

He is a total POS and my family like the Boones and many of old wilderness families hated his guts. We came over on the Mayflower and Queen Anne. We had fought and been allied with Indian tribes since the beginning. We lived on the edge of the country and had a general disdain for authority and like for tax free whiskey. Jackson came to us for help with the Chickasaw problem with Tecumseh in Alabama. We had always been friends many of the tribes, and like Davey Crockett, generally got along with most of them. Some of the indian women were actually married to some of my ancestors as well. So we helped him secure the help of our friends, the Cherokees and many affiliated tribes. He would have never been successful without our help and that of the many nations that joined the fight. (Chickasaws were assholes anyway)

Then he betrayed all of us, got Crockett beat in his reelection bid to Congress, leading him to say to hell with you I am going to Texas, where he was killed in the Alamo. He was a POS backstabbing bastard, and I hope he rots in hell. We trusted him as we thought he was one of us. The expansion he was pushing was all for the New York bankers and not the frontiersman.

DO NOT GLAMOROUS HIM. TELL THE BAD TOO.

You are right there. Lets all be honest though, the Trail of Tears and the Indian Removal Act of 1830 were all inevitable, if Jackson wasn't the president it would have been someone else doing the same exact thing. There was a bunch of generalization about the Tribes from Americans during that period. To them they were all the same.

The expulsion of Native Americans from lands East of the Mississippi was all but assured ever since the Royal Proclamation of 1763. Americans have always done and will continue to do whatever they want to do, it's just who we are. It's one of the reasons why we have built the country we have now and why we are so widely hated around the world. It's a double-edged sword.
