It is definitely true that’s the way it works.
I guess your vote won’t count if you didn’t have a witness signature.

Had a witness signature. No one checked anything to let me sign. Only saw them try to verify one person. An elderly black lady who didn't know her ward/precinct and even they couldn't find it.
Maybe it is perjury or some shite for them if it is false, but there was no verification happening.
I could have signed as Archie Manning and they would have just verified it.
The person ahead of me put the wrong signature date.
15 people above them wrote the same address and somehow they fricked it up. I pointed it out and the witness just scratched the right date in.

That’s why they they have bar codes at each sign up location and 30+ days after the due date to verify signatures

And? Nothing you have said stops anyone from faking a signature. I can go sign my neighbors name since they aren't going to sign and no one will ever know the difference.

How are these signing events operated? I’m going to the one at Palmer Park tomorrow. Has there been anyone asking for IDs/LA Secretary of State voter portal verification for each person in line?

Only went to one. Use your GeauxVote app if you don't know your ward/precinct. Stand in line. Print your name, sign your name. Print your address, ward/precinct. Date it. Witness signs it.

I know my ward/precinct. I was mostly curious about people who have no idea. I guess you can always pull that up on your phone. But since that’s so easy, I wonder if the volunteers are verifying each signature contemporaneously? It sure would save them trouble when the inevitable court challenge happens if the minimum # of signatures are acquired.

They were signing as you sign.
If you show up with a list of 10 people and try to turn it in I don't know how they handle that.

Website says they are ordering yard signs, stickers and t-shirts. Also says it was too tedious to keep the number of signatures up, so they will only post milestones.
