3200+ signatures as of today per the website. Not bad for one week

They will probably get more than the Governor recall effort that everyone laid down for.

see how easy it is to blindly speculate?

less than 12% of Orleans parish registered voters cast a ballot for Cantrell last election

Plus there are 11 more signing events over the next 7 days and they are planning to hit all the Saints games and will be out and about this weekend for the influx of over 100k people coming into the city this weekend.

The sign up date doesn't end until Ash Wednesday....they will easily get over 20k....

I'm not saying they will get the 53k they need but they will get damn close

I hope they check IDs for people signing at the Saints game. Just have a feeling a bunch will get thrown out because people from out the Parish will sign just to say they did.

Take it easy fella

just saying it’s hard to keep gathering thousands of signatures each day after the first few waves. The neighborhood approach is definitely the way to handle it though as many aren’t able or willing to travel just to sign.

I wonder if I could skate by using my old New Orleans address even though I’ve since updated my license

of course there will....thats why they need at least 100k+ signatures to get to 53k legit ones

Have to fill in your voter ward and precinct.

Aw man, I live in 11th ward 4th precinct. Want my signature?

They aren't verifying anything.

There is nothing stopping any NOLA resident from signing up at every signing event.....if they catch the duplicate then they catch it....if they dont...then you cant get counted more than once or twice or thrice....

The way I read it both signatures are thrown out if you get caught signing twice.

Pretty sure each name has to be entered and verified.

they have 88% to choose from LOL. I do think they are going to have to go door to door down the voter rolls. That will take volunteers and a lot of them

these signing events require effort on the part of the signatories, and we all know how that goes (see voter turnout). They aren’t going to be enough

Hopefully they are keeping a database, checking for dupes and have a plan to contact unsigned voters once we get into the holidays

fair enough....I've only signed once so far

I was only thinking about signing twice just in case one of the signatures were thrown out for some stupid technicality

Im sure they are going to find any reason to throw out as many signatures as they can on a un-dotted I or an uncrossed T

As they should.

No one has to show ID to sign.

N, but every signature has to have proof of registration as a voter in Orleans Parish, precinct, name, address and date and a witness.
