Is this a troll?
Majority of electricity charging EVs is from fossil fuels, then there is the environmental nightmare called open pit mining for metals needed for batteries, not to mention smelting copper for the wire needed to make motors, then disposing of this stuff at end of life. In the long run ECs will turn out to be the biggest environmental shame conceived by man.

One thing you have to overcome for EV is charging time. People don't have 20 -30 minutes or even longer per vehicle and can you imagine the wait at the "pump" so to speak?
Thought about that Friday, stopped at a Buccees for gas coming out of FL. They have over 200 pumps, and I had to wait to get a free pump, what a cluster it would be if all the cars took 20 minutes to fill up.

THIS will be the wave of the future..wait and see, not those flimsy plug in EV 's. Zero emission clean hydrogen power.
In some applications, yes. Carbon neutral E-fuel technology could save the combustion engine.

Hydrogen from a SMR (Steam Methane Reformer) has to be cryogenically purified first. The hydrogen going from SMR's to pipeline are purified by PSA (pressure swing absorption) thus not 100% like hydrogen for NASA in NOLA East by Air Products and Chemicals cryogenic purification.
SMR's produce CO2 and Carbon Monoxide as almost co products.
FWIW a leading very accurate energy blog interviewed me about this subject a few weeks ago. The only reason that they are running a series on Hydrogen is that several subscribers have been asking for it. Their ChemE Analysts realize that this is going nowhere.
HOWEVER, what I have found out over the last few years is that Wall Street Investment Banks are interested in "What's trending?" rather than 100% ROI (in a year) projects put before them in my dealings with them.

Not to mention you're going to have to produce a LOT of additional power for all those vehicles. And producing that power? How are you going to do it?
with EVs, there is no need for your imaginary tale of drivers lining up at the "pump". EVs can charge overnight at home, in the parking lots while shopping or at school etc,. that basically eliminates the need for the regular 'trip to the pump'. bc you can just charge it where you already are going to be.
with the rapidly expanding infrastructure its only a short delay for those who frequently drive over 300-500 miles in 1 sitting which is well under 10% of personal drivers.
but I agree for heavy transport stuff hydrogen is a better option than EV, but with the inefficiency of hydrogen you may as well just use gas.

Is it accurate to say that the product value of hydrogen is greater than its value as a fuel?
Would you mind sharing the name of this blog?
Also, potential technology breakthrough Lithium from Seawater I saw on Instapundit this morning. Extracts lithium as well as hydrogen and chlorine.

These naysayers think technology will just stand still for hydrogen, while EV tech will advance by leaps and bounds.
