I've got to disagree. Those renters are also indirectly paying that property tax too.
I have a lot bigger issue with political subdivisions scheduling votes for tax increases during bullshite elections that nobody gives a frick about. That way, our supreme, wonderful leaders can get enough friends, family, employees, and the employees' friends and family to push the tax through while everybody else is enjoying spring break.
We are so fricking stupid, people.

Devil's advocate, don't crucify me. What about property taxes paying for services you don't use? Schools (no kids), emergency (never needed their services), etc. etc. Is there a better, more privatized way?

Wait until the city parish puts on the ballot in 2019 a tax for ....
- drainage
- city police
- sheriff needs a new jail
- New Miss River Bridge
- NBR needs another slush fund
- run out of funding for greenlight programs they will need a 200 yr sales tax
