It is weird that he sits in jail Bc he had two wives. Seems so pointless yet so Louisiana.

The statute says nothing about marriage licenses or lying on a marriage license (which would be perjury or fraud, anyway). It’s simply illegal to have two wives.

I bet the statute could be invalidated if all parties consented to the bigamy. Would be a tougher case since he was hiding it.

You left out the part of the statute that says who it doesn’t apply to-legally divorced people, which this guy isn’t.
