How is any felon allowed on the streets? I know this post is old, but seeing it resurrected, I'd like to offer some helpful advice.
You've been drinking, and know your fine to drive. You end up at a checkpoint. When the cop asks, "Have you been drinking?" you say, "Yes." Then he might ask how much, but most of the time he'll let you through. They've already spotlighted you. They already know if you've been drinking or not. Be honest with them. Because if you say NO, then you have to pull over and prove it. Most, not all, but most cops are cool if you're straight up with them. They've seen enough drunks to know when someone's at that point.
