This is generally the case with any independent pharmacy. They provide superior service in a fraction of the time. Unfortunately, Pharnacy Benefit Managers (PBMs) are driving them out of business. There is a PBM reform bill before the MS House (which the senate already approved), but it looks like the leadership in the house is going to bend the knee, kiss the ring of the PBMs, and kill the bill. Currently PBMs are steering patients,
Shout to the Indys wherever you live. They’re the lifeblood of the community and do great work.
But to this post, man I hope that bill passes. Not sure how many Indys can survive much longer. And what I can’t get an answer on, if this passes, will the changes be immediate or will pbms be stopped in 2026 or 2027. What’s the timeline for them to go away ? Not sure the struggling places can afford to wait it out until then if they have to
Such a shame

Being from MS, I'm sure you've kept up with the grassroots movement this year. We may have even crossed paths in the last couple of months. The only reason the bill has made it to where it is today is because of this movement, but White is about to go back on the promises he made when the bill was amended in the senate.

I respect the movement, god knows there’s a lot of people depending on it and the bill to pass, sadly we’ve got these $35,000 a year state senators who don’t know a PBM from a BM and they’ll ruin it for everyone and don’t even understand the consequences
But I’ve been skeptical the legislature will do the right thing. The groups can meet at the capital in the white coats and call their representatives but in the end, the money usually wins out . I’ll be shocked if if actually passes

No doubt. Like you said, the money wins.
