Except for the whole 20 miles away thing.
20 miles away from what? From downtown it is a straight shot on I-10 - 12 miles.

BRCC is pretty easy course if you hit it straight and avoid the trees. David Toms came in years back and made in longer and harder, putting hazards in common landing areas, etc., but the old men members don't like it to play too tough. The rough is VERY manageable and the greens are in great condition, average pace, very true, and attackable. Those things combine for low scores.
Elite golfers dominate that course, but its a very, very enjoyable round. I followed Toms for a few holes trying out some new clubs from Cleveland he had never hit before. He played the 6 or 7 holes in 4 or 5 under from the tips and without practice swings I think. (this was before he made it harder)
CCL is much harder and also in great shape.
Just a different vibe from the too.

When I worked at CCLa, the initiation was $25,000 and around $550 a month. This is for a full, stock holding golf member. They had some junior deals going on, but eventually, they get you for all of it I believe. This was about 3 years ago. It's a Nicklaus Signature Course - I miss it.

I exaggerated, but its still far away.
Tons of friends lived out there and I hated driving out there then driving back into town.

I hear ya. I guess it depends on where you are coming from and where you are going. For me I live in South BR and work in South BR so nothing this way is far for me.

Can't go wrong with either IMO.
The thing I ask for most in a golf course is good condition/well manicured and they both nail that criteria.

Isn't there a food & beverage minimum too?
