Bank will be writing him a new check soon from their account.
The bank could have easily verified the check. I had my bank call me on 3500 dollar check I wrote to a contractor last year, because he looked Mexican. He is not, is a legal citizen and by far the best contractor I ever had. I know it was BS because a white contractor cashed a check for almost same amount few weeks earlier and no one called me. I appreciate them looking after me but…

My local bank calls me anytime someone comes in to cash a check I wrote. If they deposit it at their bank, my bank has never questioned it. Only when looking for cash.
At my bigger business, I had a Chase account. Chase never rejected a check and never called me but I do not believe anyone ever tried to cash a check at Chase.
