Last time the unions pulled "gimme the world or we strike demands" The car companies all threatened to declare bankruptcy, and the Taxpayers had to bail them out.

I nearly got fired as a contractor for a foreign tire manufacturer because I had email conversations with someone, where I was explaining why unions were shite. That was my introduction into Data Loss Prevention/Email keyword scanning. I guess they missed the nuance because they were foreign.

If they had done that in 1971 they wouldn't have had the problems they did in the 2000s. GM was known as a health care company that made cars on the side because their pension and health plans were so out of control. GM was the largest buyer of viagra during this period.
Unfortunately, it isn't so easy just kicking them out. Federal laws and such.
