Unless if I’m buying beaucoup stuff from lowe’s or Home Depot, I won’t use or ask for one.

if stores offered me discounts for being short i'd be asking every where i went. ain't nothing trashy about trying to save a bit of money.

Many in the defense industry are prior service

So I wouldn’t be surprised if they get discounts

Most places advertise their discounts so you don’t have to ask anyway but to pander and ask every little place is tacky.

This. I didn't sign up 20+ years ago to save a few pennies by flashing around an ID card. If a place openly advertises or I am asked directly that's one thing but I don't go around expecting to get a discount. Unfortunately there is plenty of self-serving trash in uniform.
