Why do you hate America?

Thats old school but still applies.
Again, my grandmaw wasn't having it! That was just her thing. She cooked the meal and fed your arse, but that was her one condition.
Any restaurant that I'd need to take my hat off at because it is too fancy, I'm not wearing a hat anyway. I've been turned away at a place once. Simple mistake on my part. New place and I just had no idea it was fancy. They asked to remove it, I declined because the hair and hat ring underneath was a lost cause. The poor girl at the door thought she was gonna hear shite about it. I simply politely told her I did not know, and would be back another day.

seems reasonable to me.
a moment of respect, as that other person saw it.

Someone has to stand up and protest hat rings and Clay Walker still singing the Anthem

I was actually asking the guy who said he understood no hats at the table, but not no hats indoors.
I was always raised that you take your hat off indoors, but 3/4 grandparents were in the military.
Just seems like if one makes sense, then both should... or vice versa.

Thats my point. But I wasn't pissy enough to ruin my lunch and spot at the bar. Especially to squabble with a bar manager.
I just also thought it was odd that a bar manager would do that to a customer. Make sure my next beer mug is clean and cold, and my wings come out hot. Don't correct me on patriotic protocol.

While eating dinner I was taught it was the polite thing to do.
While indoors....and especially at a bar....I never thought of it as being "impolite"

Grandmaw married a farmer. Hats were a part of life. Her line was the table. Not really indoors.

You should have let known to the person doing the asking that he/she are in two violations of the flag code themselves.
1. you're not suppose to speak during anthem.
2. you're suppose to be at full attention during anthem which obviously...
...and that his half-assed reverence for the flag is duly noted.
